I'm very happy because my slow progress has not affected the progress to the next phase of my mentor. Tolek got a lot of work to teach me basic things to move on, which slows down progress, but this things were required to keep climbing stairs.

I see no losers here, all I see are great guitarists sharing their knowledge and time to help others who want to progress. That can only come from winning borns.

Congratulations to all for the great work!!!

Tolek! I hope you recover soon, and do a good healing to prevent relapses. smile.gif

Cheers!!!!

Valentin

AS someone who has monitored the MTP programme closely I would like to say well done to all of the mentors. The effort some of you guys put into the task was fantastic. Even though I was not involved directly I still learned a lot from you guys.

Commiserations to those of you not chosen. I guess you are disappointed but dont ever feel you have lost because you simply have not. You have learned a lot and gained the respect of the GMC community.

To those 5 who were chosen I hope you are in training and have lots of energy as I am sure Muris will push you hard and you will have 5 mentorees to deal with too! I will be in the queue and will be honoured if chosen to have any of you as a mentor.

Well done guys! smile.gif

Valentino, you make a good progress, actually. You can´t complain about anything, until now everything works well. If you keep practising like this, you will great in a few months. It is only a matter of quantity and quality of practising hours. I´m sure you´re gonna do it!

Thanks for recovery wishes. A small update: I feel much better now, today was my second school day and the stress is continuing. laugh.gif I´ve got a herpes on my mouth and it looks awful. Btw, on Tuesday I´m going to have a test in Spanish. biggrin.gif
I try to make a comment on your recent videos today. smile.gif

Cheers, my friend!

Just to add in here, it was really tough, all had great qualities, as Andrew stated, we just had to decide on a formula and we stuck with that to choose.

We have had a quick chat today and decided that all the 5 runner ups will be getting a bye for the next competition, so will automatically qualify for the second round! smile.gif

Contratulation guys !!

You all did a really great job and it was a lot of fun and i learned a lot by following the different approaches. To take a decision must have been hard for Chris and Andrew, i wouldn't have liked to be in their position for this.

Good luck with being mentored by Master Muris.... Uncleskillet, Lcsdds, Tolek, AJMurrell and Velvet Roger, ... you guys will have to practice ... A LOT !! laugh.gif

@OC : Thanks to you too!! It was really fun for me and a good experience. I hope you could take something out of these 4 weeks. Any time you are welcome to ask questions if you need some help! You are more advanced as you allow yourself to think ... keep practicing. Take care and we keep in touch .. smile.gif

There isn't really much more to say but "Thank you!" I will do my best to teach and spread the GMC spirit.

Steve, it has been a very rewarding experience for me to be able to help you. I see a great player inside you and I'm really looking forward to helping you develop your talent.

Thanks everyone.

Jeff

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Wow, being on a business trip, just checking the forum quickly at Heathrow airport and then reading that I am finally selected is definitely the best way ever to get on a plane to home smile.gif

I could only comment in saying a big thank for the opportunity, many thanks to Ben for being a great mentoree and a lot of respect for all other 9 competitors smile.gif

I thought my motivation was already sky high, but this is boosting it as I speak!
