Keeping your priorities in line is a good thing. But do not put the guitar down all together. Just 5 minutes a day of scales could make a big difference for when you do come back to playing, and you will they all do.

I do not care how busy one is we all can come up with five minutes. Shoot keep it next to the tollet if you have to.
