Yeah, it was pretty wrong rule and unfortunately some major players won't apply next year cause of that rule...... Will you? |

Will you? Not sure Jose, perhaps I will if Emir and I book some more gigs but not just for the competition if rules are gonna be the same. For me, the prize would be being able to play on stage there. -Adam It is what counts the most, yeah. -------------------- Youtube

cool. Your gigs with Emir sure looked like allot of fune too. And btw what about this contest
http://www.guitarplayer.com/article/now-ac...es/apr-09/95275 Its cool because they feature you in guitar player magazine and the judges are guys like Vai and Bettencourt and there is no online voting. |

I think all those GP competitions are US residents only or som. -------------------- Youtube

Congrats on the 2nd place Muris! :] Hope you're gonna do it again, though I must agree that the fact that only the votes have influence on who wins sucks a bit.. And if you don't like the amp you won, you can always sell it! (to me ) Thanks a lot, I don't know how this amp works at all but I believe I'm gonna keep it after all. -------------------- Youtube

Does anybody know how the heck the judging was done for this competition?????
One of the other forums I get on said that it was determined by these guys??? http://www.guitaridol.tv/judges/online I thought it was chosen by the "popular" online vote.......I'm confused. Muris.....what were you told.....obviously going into the competition you thought the winner would be determined using a different method than was actually used. |

You mixed things a little Monte.
Those were judges BEFORE the finals, those guys picked 8 players for the finals during online finals and they also decided some players for online finals along with public pick. But I don't know who were judges in the finals. I'm not certain about that Muris. Last year a guy from bosnia went. I posted a thread here with that contest you said you knew that guy I don't you ask him? or just send an email to guitar player! I think it's a great opportunity. If you pass you are going to be seen and judge by people like steve vai, joe satriani etc. Yeah but he's been US resident for like 8-9 years. -------------------- Youtube

Just got this from LL. For those of you that missed any of the performances...
http://www.licklibrary.com/Channels/Guitar-Idol/ still can't find where they tell how the voting was split, just that it was split.. This post has been edited by skennington: Jun 19 2009, 12:48 AM |
