Hi GMC

I have seen a Ibanez RG 3120 TW Prestige: Attached File  Ibanez_RG_3120_TW_Prestige.bmp ( 559.45K ) Number of downloads: 827

How would you rate this guitar?

the spec are:
price € 995

- Build: 2003
- Edge Pro tremolo
- Mahonie body
- 3-part maple neck
- Rosewood fretboard
- Dimarzio Paf-pro (neck)
- Dimarzio Tone Zone change by Evolution (bridge)

Does anyone know what the Evolution pickup is and how good it is?

What would be a fair price?

Cheers
Robert

Does anyone know what the Evolution pickup is and how good it is?

They are the ones designed with Steve Vai and that are fitted to JEM's!
If it's good enough for Steve.........

Having said that, it lists it as a Tone Zone which is a different Pickup from the Evolution!
I'd guess that it's a Tone Zone as this is the Dimarzio recommended partner for the PAF-Pro in the neck! Either way, still a great set of Pickups!

Personally I think the price is about right!

That thing is a shred weapon!

Mahagony RGs are hard to find, they play and sound awesome! Looks like it has a maple top...
The craftsmanship on this guitar is top notch, the Edge Pro is a great trem that can hold the tuning very well and you get two high class Dimarzi pickups in it!!

The Evolution is Stevie Vai's signature pickup; it's great for shredding, rock and metal, a very versatile pickup!
Is it a Tonezone in the neck or were both tonezones replaced for Evolution pickups?

A prestige in this quality level costs arround 2000 € new, so if it's in good condition you are making a really good deal!
I will buy it if you don't want it!!!

Here is the 2009 version of this guitar: http://www.thomann.de/de/ibanez_rg3620z_abb.htm

Hi ZakkWylde

Dimarzio Paf-pro (neck) so the bridge was replaced by the Evolution.

Thanks for the info and link

Cheers
