Hey everybody! So I'm planning on selling my old Ibanez ARX320 and Schecter Damien 7 (any buyers? haha) to purchase a brand new Fender Stratocaster I'm looking towards the Standard Stratocaster, since I cant really afford anything more The main thing that I am looking for is a tone close to Yngwie Malmsteen, but I also need something that is great for sustain, as with long vibratos and such I've heard different things about the different bridges on the Stratocasters. Is one better for my needs? Also, I see the Standard Strats and the Made in Mexico Strats, which would you suggest for my needs? I mostly play Rock, Metal, and Neoclassical, but also love a little blues here and there Let me know, thanks! -MattEdge I dont find any bigger difference between American strats and Mexican, unless You go for the signature models... But I shall be the "Classic Player" series from Mexico, they have really good hardware. Regarding the bridge I will definitely recommend those with just two srews attached to the instead of five, since they are keeping the tuning a lot better. //Staffay -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans. Overdrive, TC-Electronics G-Major, Dunlop Wah-wah, Original SansAmp, BOSS DD-2 Music by Staffy can be found at: Staffay at MySpace |

well it seems like you got used to super strat guitars (ibanez and shecter)
why not go with a higher quality version of the two? ART series from ibanez a great undestimated series from ibanez. they are thick and warm sounding guitars with that ibanez playability you have grown to love. they have models randing from entry level to prestiges. check it out: http://ibanez.com/ElectricGuitars/Series-artist_prestige im not much into schecter so i cant tell you where to go with that. of course the SZR is one of my favorites: http://ibanez.com/ElectricGuitars/Series-szr i believe yngwie uses stacked single coils so he pretty much is getting the humber sound from his strat. the reason why id think you would love to the two ibanez guitars i posted above is because the necks will be similar as the one you are used to, the guitar will be made of higher quality parts (than the MIM strats), and you will have a great sound with lots of sustain! well it seems like you got used to super strat guitars (ibanez and shecter) why not go with a higher quality version of the two? I agree with You Marc! Why feed an already fat cow? (oki, oki, Ibanez is also fat) I also believe that You can get a lot more guitar for the money by selecting another brand that Fender, which in my opiníon is not price-worthy at all. Eg. You pay for the logo, even that their high-end instruments are very good. (but to what prize... puhaaaa!!!) A top of the line Ibanez is as good as a Fender for half the prize! (I own two of them, not strats, but anyway) Btw. I'm on my anti-Fender crusade right now, so don't expect nothing else from me.... //Staffay -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans.
