> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Swing-Jazz-Blues/

Equipment: Ibanez Arctore AF105, POD X3 Live, Reaper, Vegas

Notes: I did something with this REC submission that I haven't done in and past and that was to alter it a bit and 'make it my own'. I went for more of a smooth jazz type of feel.

Very very good take! The ocatve solo part and the improvisation part is almost perfect.
There are some timing problem on some places, but nothing serious. And maybe in the improvisation part you have to pay more attention to the stressing. There are heavy tones and less emphatic tones and if we play these notes well, then will be our playing really jazzy. The chord part is the most difficult part in this practice. Your playing was really nice, but try to play some chords lessly, not every chords alike long. These are already minor mistakes, but very important things. Nice job!! biggrin.gif

I like the tone and the feel. You have to go more for the swing feel. Like playing in triplets. When you play those short chords with fingers (right after the bass note) they are executed bit too late. Keep everything in swing as much as possible. Good work overall.
