Black pudding is amazing.. I'm sorry to hear you don't like it ! ohmy.gif

Can depend on the black pudding though Ben smile.gif . I like hard Irish black pudding, particularly from Clonakilty much more than the similar English one. Spanish black pudding though is different again, much softer and more buttery. They do a particularly nice one in Graselema.

I'm not particularly squeemish about what I eat so happiy eat all sorts of offal including tripe, black and white puddings, testicals and brains. I love fish and sea food and I've eaten sea urchin and other 'odd' things like that. We eat snails when they're in season though I prefer them in a picante salsa rather than as caldo (sort of like snail tea).

Things that I don't/can't eat/drink tend to be because of allergies - strawberries and red wine.

Apart from that I refuse to eat at McDonalds/Burger King and so on on principle.

It sounds like it really should not work, but it does..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_pudding

If you scroll down, that picture of the English breakfast with eggs, beans etc.. that's what the black pudding looks like that we generally eat over here. It already looks black when you get it and it just gets blacker as you fry it smile.gif

I would of never even had tried a mouth full (having to spit it out) if I knew back then!

Black Pudding, also known as Blood Sausage, contains Meat(s)/Fat, Pig Snout, Suet (Hard fat found around the loins and kidneys), sweet potato or rice, onion, chestnut, barley, parsley and oatmeal. This is all processed and stuffed into a cow's or pig's intestine to form something which is spos to be a sausage but ends up looking more like a doggy doo doo.

That's not the worst part, Pig, cattle, sheep, duck or goat blood is used, cooked in that as the blood congealed into a thick gooey black paste. Locking in all that bloody favour! The congealed blood is kept to use as the sauce.

Oh Ben answered it as I did, cheers, but you must have a strong stomach if you enjoy that stuff! Maybe Ben is a vampire, I can see how they might like it?!!!?!!!

I totally sympathise with you here Azza.. I'm one of the most squeamish people ever, especially when it comes to food. But for some reason, I never had that problem with black pudding. Even though I know what it is, my mind has never made the association with the taste of it and what it is.. thankfully ! wink.gif

As long as it doesn't move when I try to eat it, or be potentially deadly to me, I'll try it.

That being said, I will never Feta Cheese, its automatic vomit cheese to me!

The place where we performed last night is an American oriented spot and they have burgers like they cook em in the USA biggrin.gif just had one and it felt good - I know it's not the healthiest thing to have, but once every 2-3 months it can go by unnoticed biggrin.gif right?

Todd here smile.gif What are Burgers done like in Europe? Are they quite a bit different than how we do it? We usually start a quarter pound of beef and go up from there. Below that, it's not really a burger. It's a sliver and a bun smile.gif

My fav local place YEAH BURGER, does BISON BURGERS! They start at 1/3 Pound of Pure Bison Meat! YUM!

Burgers are done the same way here in Germany, Todd. Though we don't have as many great burger places as you guys in the US. Usually you can get them in a steakhouse or a sportsbar with restaurant, where the emphasis is on the restaurant smile.gif
Man, I remember the days when I was driving through california. I think I had a burger every night. And my breakfast was eggs benny most of the time laugh.gif Needless to say I gained weight during these 3 weeks.
