Alex
I was using your trick to improve my bending and was wondering what a real guitarist would say about it. Now I know I wasn't wrong! Thanks Carmine |

A great tip/trick Alex!! Also, great "additional" tip, regarding doing this at different spots up and down the neck.
Another idea I saw a while back (perhaps a Joe Satriani vid on youtube?) involved bending, lets say the "G" note on the a-string up to an "A" note (whole step bend). So that's bending the 8th fret on the B-string to match the 5th fret on the high E. Basically you're bending up, and quickly checking intonation against that notes counterpart on the high-E. You could also work in (not in the original vid) the concept you applied, meaning do this with a half step bend, whole step, and 1 1/2. But, I haven't tried it to see how well it works, so I like the tuner idea better at the moment!! -------------------- Check out my awesome Nintendo Cover-band, EMULATOR!! http://www.reverbnation.com/emulator Now.....go practice!! |

Great thread Alex! Using a tuner is a good idea to be sure of the pitch that you are reaching. It's also very important to pay attention to the sound, to incorporate it in our minds in order to train our ears.

Great idea mate. You can never practice bending enough! Until the strings break Well doing 1 1/2 bend on the high E and it will break sooner or later |

Or until someone comes in and hears you doing those disharmonic bends to oblivion, and thinks you've gone nuts LOL -------------------- |
