Plus, like the Apprentice Task, you can steal these ideas and work them into your own phrases and ideas. Ok, so it's not all AP.. there's an evil little legato section in there but you're ok with that, right ??? I couldn't play it very well at all but I really wanted to. I'm about six months in to GMC and would say I've made some noticeable leaps in my playing! I was barely touching my guitars before, now I am totally addicted again. Anyway, this solo reminds me of Andy LaRoque playing in some ways. I remember there was a time where I couldn't get past a moderate speed and it was because I was being too meticulous about not moving certain parts and it was all because I'd taken some picking advice to heart too much and it stunted by playing. I was trying to muscle through it with my thumb joint only and didn't allow my wrist, hand or forearm to move at all. Hard to describe here, really.. but I'd taken some general picking advice too literally. Would be interesting to see some footage of your picking technique.
