To be completely honest these Bear Rose lessons are quite frustrating. The main video, the sections at the slower tempo and the tab are all different. Can you point me to some different lessons, honestly I do not like to proced in this way.
Thanks

Cosmin,
just out of curiuosity. If Chords, Strumming and First Rhythm is the "first chapter", what is next?
Have a great week end,

Hey Carmine, don't look at it as a first chapter smile.gif you can practice chords, strumming and rhythm all your life, but it happens that rhythm is a very important aspect and that's why you need to get acquainted with it first thing smile.gif Imagine that Andres Segovia was still studying at 82 years old out of what I know, so, you only stop when YOU decide to smile.gif

Proceeding all right with DW progression. I have just to put the lesson together, practcing starting slownly and taking all the time it need.
I have strated Muris lesson as well. What a great way to make sure to play a chord correctly.

Carmine

Howdy Carmine, I am glad you are enjoying these lessons - I gave things a good thought and yes, I think it's a bit frustrating to try and learn something while not being sure if it's right or not, or having some uncertainties of some kind. Well, anyway, I am here to help out, so let me know if you get into any trouble along the way smile.gif

Hi Cosmin
I gave it a thought as well, since I was a bit to harsh. Being able to replicate what Bear was playing by ear would have been a very good exercise. However, as I said, I got confused since he played in different way in the videos (particulary the slow versions). And not having the teacher in front of you, when you can stop him, ask questions, made it terrible difficult. In this case I would like the tab to help me but also them were different.
Saying that I really know and understand that ryhthm guitar is all about feel, so only the ear should be enough.

regards
Carmine

Hey Carmine! I salute your initiative and I would be really glad if you would choose this path, as the ear will benefit a lot from it smile.gif Let's finish the David Walliman lesson first, ok?

Thanks Cosmin.
While I continue the David Walliman lesson, what do you suggest to do? I was thinking we can do one of this, more strumming and basic chords (you already suggested some lessons, the new Gabriel one is quite fun) or something else on rhythm, starting to play some licks (like the 15 blues licks lesson by Alex) or having a bit of fun and start to play a song (the chords progression of Confortably Numb is in my mind). If you were not mentoring me I would jump on "in the style of" lesson since they are my favourite but we should decide together.

Thanks so much
Carmine

Hey Carmine!

I think that 'In the style of' type lessons are not a bad idea, but before them, you should get your chops ready, as there is more than just rhythm playing in those lessons wink.gif

So, I suggest we try some simple lead based lessons in parallel with Gabe's chord shifting lesson, which I honestly think will do you A LOT of good!

Please tell me, what lead lessons have you tackled so far?

Cosmin

Cosmin,
While I will study Gab lesson I wil look at some Ben's lessons on power chords. I really want to learn rock guitar and think that lessons are a very good starting point.

Thanks
