$20??? Great deal mate! Congrats.
 At first you will feel a bit confused with so many options but after some days of experimentation you will find which things work for you and which not. Start from the basics, just drive and EQ to get a tone that you like and feel comfortable playing. Then you can experiment with modulation fxs, delays, compressors, and so.Looking forward your samples! -------------------- My lessons

I really loved my Zoom G21U, even though I've moved on since :-).
Here are some patches to try: http://guitarpatches.com/patches.php?unit=G1 My biggest gripe with the zoom was that you can't edit patches on a computer. A lot of knob-fiddling required :-) --------------------  |

I'm a fan of the acoustic preset in the Zoom G1N
Oh and for recording (since its not G1U and doesn't have USB support), I connected its output to the line in of my sound card, is that okay? It does give some noise when using distortion, but I think a combination of the built-in noise gate of G1N and a noise gate VST will do the job, right?This is a small sample of the acoustic preset on my G1N No VSTs used at all, all the effects are from the G1N https://soundcloud.com/sam-ryan-stormrage/acoustic-sound-test-zoom-g1n And more now! This preset is probably my favorite for rock rhythm, although I'd like to make it sound heavier for metal Oh, and the drum track is generated by the G1N too, the audio quality is pretty decent So I recorded the drums on one track then recorded the riff over the track, because when you turn on the drum machine on it, the reverb/delay effects go away till you turn the drum machine off.https://soundcloud.com/sam-ryan-stormrage/rock-rhythm-sound-test-zoom What do you think?
