That's the only one I know by name - they employ that 'ornament' constantly. The snare drummers in a pipe band do it too.
This website has some interesting yet very general info. http://www.potomacvalleyscottishfiddle.org...rner/index.html (Pipers are as psycho about their gear and their tradition as guitarists are.) *Even though 'highland' pipes (the big loud ones that you see in the pipe bands with the drums) are a Bb mixolydian instrument they write the music in the key of A. The pitch has evolved sharp over the last 350 years. In fact they are about 9 cents sharp from 'our' Bb now (and still gaining). Bb on your chromatic tuner = 466 Bb on the highland pipes = about 475 -------------------- - Ken Lasaine
