Pretty cool Cosmin. I've always wanted to get that little ornamental pattern.
It's called a 'ruff' in the bagpipe world.

That's the only one I know by name - they employ that 'ornament' constantly. The snare drummers in a pipe band do it too.
This website has some interesting yet very general info.

(Pipers are as psycho about their gear and their tradition as guitarists are.)

*Even though 'highland' pipes (the big loud ones that you see in the pipe bands with the drums) are a Bb mixolydian instrument they write the music in the key of A. The pitch has evolved sharp over the last 350 years. In fact they are about 9 cents sharp from 'our' Bb now (and still gaining).
Bb on your chromatic tuner = 466
Bb on the highland pipes = about 475

I will say a joke although it's silly - it's higher because it's in the highlands? laugh.gif

Thanks for the input man smile.gif I'd be curious to see if the guys dig it and come up with some stuff using it

I like that joke!

But in all seriousness ... Higher = louder, brighter and scarier. Remember it's a military thing with the highland pipers. The first line coming over the moor. You need to scare the crap out of the enemy.

I'd actually be fascinated not scared, actually. I have this thing for Scotland since I was very young. One of my long term goals would be to visit there at least once in this lifetime smile.gif
