> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate. This is a very demanding lesson and you are not very far but as you said it still needs more practice. The main problem are the sweep picking sections, and some little timing issues in some AP parts. So my suggestions is to isolate the different parts and work on them over metronome.

Keep on the hard work! wink.gif

Hello Chandra!

As Gabe noticed, this lesson is demanding in many aspects, one of them, being the fact that you need to use a tone which obliges you to play very clean and accurate. I know it from my experience with the orchestra gigs - every timing issue or inaccuracy could be heard pretty clearly, because of the tone.

I say, take more time on this one and play it until it's perfect, by isolating all the parts at slow speed and maintaining an even attack. Since the tone is clean enough, you can control that and it will bring even more beauty to the piece!

Keep rocking bro!

I could only add that there are moments when notes are not separated enough. I mean the part with drums, when You play licks like 0:30. But according to the level of this lesson and the tiny level of Your flaws (people are not compuiters) also...considering that if students could play everything with 100% precision they won't be...a students...I think You should pass smile.gif I think You did what's most important in this lesson...position shifts, and pretty wide movements between strings while playing arpegios. For me it's a well made take smile.gif

Very cool take, Chandra! The drum part is almost perfect, but in the clean part your playing is too heavy...I mean you should play it lighter, with soft dynamics contrasts, wow it's really hard to explain, uuggh something like...you hold a soft paintbrush in your hand then suddenly you change it to AK47...when the drums starts smile.gif
I can give you a strong 8.
