I'm not positive of the year but I know it's early 1940s because it has a 'field coil' speaker (separate trannny for the speaker).
It's a National ... the brown one on the right.

[attachment=32835:IMG_2013...5_011410.JPG]

*the blackface fender is a bassman head/chassis from '64 loaded into a 2-10 cab.
The National I found for 35.00 in a local music shop and the bassman I traded a session for.

An old Martin from the late 1800s. Here it is on the right (the one on the left is from the late 50s).

I don't have much really old stuff anymore, but I used to own a Jackson RR1 guitar from the 80s.

Wow! So the guitar on the left is 100 + years old... Can you tell us its history?

Wow - was it refurbished, or is it holding on without any problem in it's original state? biggrin.gif

It's made out of aluminum. There's really nothing to break or degrade. It has some blemishes especially on the back.

Sweet! Speaking of which, here's my favorite lap steel solo - around minute 03:59 - even if it's not done on a normal lap steel, the concept is similar biggrin.gif

Great solo. That's being played on a 'Dobro' resonator guitar. They're made two ways: with either a normal neck and action to be played like a regular guitar or with really high action to be played with a slide bar (like in the vid).

Thank you Ken, I had no clue biggrin.gif But what I do know, is that I find myself a lot in this music and I could listen and play all the time!

Well you know, like me, at some point you just may find that you need to pick up yet another sword (metaphorically).

Liking it? I'm loving it! biggrin.gif He was really born to do this and I think it fits like a glove. There's one thing I dislike about Aaron - his passion for hunting. Why the hell do you need to kill animals, man? Do you starve and have NO OTHER WAY of feeding yourself? I think not! If you want a thrill - go hunt a bear with a hand knife ONLY:)

I'm sorry, I mean't to ask, do you like his "country" album. tongue.gif tongue.gif

I'm still not sure if you're joking or not. Kinda just feels like a hack on that beach/country/redneck thing that already sucks.

But that's just me

It's a cultural thing.
Both the hunting - very difficult to explain if you weren't raised in the rural USA ...
and the fact that lots of american rockers think that their 'roots' are in mountain music.
