Look at this one; Excel - Tapping Into the Emotional Void , was copyrighted in 1986 and released in 1988
And famous Metallica - Enter Sandman , released in 1991
Man, that is quite crazy how close those riffs are...... too close

Very interesting topic! This has always fascinated me - are these just musical coincidences or...?
There is so much music out there so it is not like the odds of compositing something that was already done are non existent but stil... This is usually the case with pretty famous songs. It would really interesting to hear thoughts from the bands involved on this.
Another example :
RHCP's version :
Yeah, that Tom petty song is mega famous there's no way RHCP were unaware that danni california was so similar. I'd love to hear their thoughts on the subject.
Here's another couple I noticed: Sasquatch - dragon fly.... I always thought the opening riff was a lot like ' a national acrobat' by Sabbath
The rest of the sasquatch song doesnt sound anything like 'national acrobat', Im fine with bands being a bit sabbathy! I still think both of the above songs are killer!
I think this is a bit far fetched, but i held this in my mind wondering for some years now - doesn't the vocal line of the second song fit over the first one but at a slower tempo?
