God Bless em for trying smile.gif Hopefully a tour will follow. Sadly, at this stage in their career they are almost a ACDC tribute band. Same thing with Metallica, Def Leopard, etc. Many rock/metal bands, after many many many albums, will actually release a "covers" album and then tour on their old hits which is sorta lame but understandable. Gotta feed the beast.

There is also a new slayer album coming out but after the last slayer album I'm expecting a "covers" record from slayer smile.gif

Todd

Todd's right - many of today's 'Gods' sort out music just to stay afloat. Their spark has gone a long time now smile.gif But, you can't blame them, as this is their job... isn't it?

I love ACDC, they must make a fortune off of every tour! I wonder if Malcolm will be touring?

I also heard that he is in trouble - hope he'll be alright tho...

Mate, how is practicing going, come to think of it? smile.gif I remember we left off where you had to fix a few issues and take it further onward from there, right?

True smile.gif They got bills to pay like the rest of us. It's not like most of them can just switch back to their alternate lucrative careers.

Good point - to make it anywhere near these guys' level of success, you need to be obsessed with what you do. How could you then stop voluntarily if you got the health?

It's a pretty cool topic though, can you give an example of a big band/artist that manages to surpass expectations even at a late age?

Perhaps this is harder to achieve with heavy/physically demanding music?

And is it even needed? After all the fans grow older just like the artists, maybe it's just a musical symbiosis happening.

Jeff Beck. He's 70 this year. Still doing it very differently than he did when he started. In fact, he always changes up his approach.

Looks like a new trend to question why they still keep doing it...especially on social media....where's the crime in doing what you do best?
Is it for the adrenaline stage kick?...who knows...but they could rest easily on their laurels for the same money and retire
Ok it's nothing new and they keep the same formula of rock n roll...but i'll rather see their show even with lots of old hits then watching a dj set with prerecorded noise like the hype in Belgium...

some respect for oldschool rockers who keep rocking is not gonna hurt...

No one says they are not being respected wink.gif It's obviously clear that they are enjoying what they are doing, but we were talking about creativity here, not about how good they are at rocking out or putting out a show. AC/DC had one of the THE BEST live shows I've ever seen! Rammstein as well and I can think of a few more in this category, but when I've seen Karnivool perform live - not only have I seen an amazing live concert but that music was outworldly - creative, complex, catchy - you name it smile.gif I am a fan, yes, but I am trying not to speak as a fan but as someone impartial appreciating creativity. This is very debatable, I know, but that's my opinion wink.gif

Very true..but i was referring to comments on the web and social media i've read about the next album...(oh no not another one,who wants this same old thing ..bla bla)

Minds are already made up before the thing is on the market by simple prejudice...i prefer to wait the facts before judging them again.
The least they deserve after a long carreer in the bizz is that...you never know if they surprise us wink.gif

To those folks on social media that are tired of AC/DC doing the same old thing ... I guess then they were tired of them by about 1983.
The same old thing is kinda what they do.

I remember a quote where someone said to Augus that they'd recorded the same album 14 times and his response was, No I think you'll find it's 15!
