I´m using the device Boss GT-100 together with the amp Fender Deluxe Amp. I have bypassed the premp- and speakeroptions of the Bossdevice and now I´m considering selling the Boss GT-100 and bying for example the TC Electronic Nova System-device. The main reason is that I am curious!

Hi mate! Both are good quality devices and the difference is exactly that thing that you are deciding to not using. If you are sure that you are not going to need amp emulation, going for the Nova System could be an upgrade for your effects and processes, however I don't know it the difference will be really important.
What do you think that your Boss is lacking? and what do you expect from Nova System? Also, which effects and processes do you use? -------------------- My lessons

I think there's a good chance you may hear a big difference. TC's background from making digital studio hardware reflects to their guitar fx as being more open/airy sounding.

Also there is always a matter of taste, transparent can also mean characterless or plug-in like for some. Not long ago a friend of mine sold his strymon and got a digitech supernatural reverb. He also doesn't use his line 6 DL4 as he used to after getting an mxr carboncopy delay. The amps he uses are top notch but I guess he simply wanted more character from pedals although price-wise the replacements are much lower. Yeah, it's very subjective and personal. We are talking about music, about art, creation. -------------------- My lessons
