I fear he may be mixing it himself!! He's got his home studio in his basement. He may have brought in someone to mix there of course. Given that sales have been declining for all cds, I'm guessing he is trying to keep it low budget. Also the music video is just his guitar and vehicle collection so also shot right at his place. He probably brought in a camera crew or had a friend shoot, probably had the same guy mix and master smile.gif its' sure a step down from the quality on something like TRILOGY which was back when budgets were much bigger.
I remember reading from a producer that one of the records from NILE had a $50,000 budget. Then one of the following records had a $5,000 budget. That is quite a drop. The same guy mentioned a Lynch Mob album having a $250,000 for the first one then a small fraction for a later album. Bands have gone to doing stuff in their home studios more and more it seems with iffy results.

Who is mixing his albums?? ohmy.gif

After the guitar player with red hair in xjapan committed suicide, several fans tried to kill themselves and one suceeded. They were the first band to really bring this type of music to Japan in a big way. The lables in Japan refused to sign them and refused to book them. So they did their own tour and played outdoor venues used for sporting events as those were not controlled by the japanese music industry. They went on to become the biggest rock band in Japan. Here is my 5 minute doc in case you missed it! Good share smile.gif

One of the most impossible cover songs that anyone can ever attempt imho. The Queensryche tune from waaay back called "Queen of the Reich". The singer who wrote it can no longer sing it. It takes huge cahones to even attempt it and she just nails it. I"m glad they put this cover out, even if only in Japan. Amazing work.

Goth/Pop band THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE doing their song "Red Star" in Moscow Russia. Love this band. Check out how the audience almost drowns out the band when singing the chorus. They picked the right spot to play a song called "Red Star" smile.gif Anyone else a fan of this band? Most folks have never heard of them.

Thanks for the share! I think paul is very under rated as far as his range. Folks think of him as a shredder. True he does shred, and shreds beyond the bounds of sanity. But he also composes killer bits like this.

Cool song and vid! I was waiting for the kids to kneel down on the rebel flags and perform the traditional muslim prayer in unison, which would make many folks heads just explode as they watched it smile.gif It worked well though even without that.

Great shares, this one took me 2-3 listens to find its vibe but then it pretty cool. The production quality if off the charts (record/mix/mastering) so can be a good reference track too when needed.

And a bit more paul. 2009. As famous as paul is in the guitar community, I still thing he's vastly under rated as a player. He gets pigeon holed with the 80s shred cats as he sorta helped pioneer that entire thing. He plays killer blues and writes great songs as well. He's able to play with feeling and able to play with shocking technical skill.

I shared this band in another thread but here they are straight from Japan. A trio led by a ripping Gal on lead guitar.

It was a very fun watch. It's got a "documentary" vibe but it's not. It's a movie with a rough basis in fact. They took the history and captured the essence of it. It's a great watch for folks that don't like "behind the music" style bits as it plays like pure fiction even though it's not.
