very cool and i am honored that you liked the riffs i put together....I tried to mix it up a bit to give it a bit more flexability for use.......but now at least the road has started to be paved...very cool...I have a idea working for a cool break down into a acoustic part........that would be bice for a bass player to walk all over.could also be a sort of bass player with a solo duet thingy........that would be tasty......and break right out into a power corus. to many ideas....i need a coffee.... laugh.gif

welll cool a bass player........that should get things going good as well...........ok well I love to record an write so here is that acoustic break down thingy........I also threw in a new guitar riff your way as well. it might come in handy somewhere along the way.......I kept the drums pretty plain and simple.....on this didnt add any flare so it has a lil more raw bite to it........and took the reverb out of the guitar........the acoustic guitar needs new string and a batery so it redcorded a lil flat laugh.gif enjoy..........this is definatly alot of fun

ballistic31 - again, this sounds great! man, you rock!! biggrin.gif

I'm sure we'll find a place for that acoustic break. I also really like the other new riff (starting at 00:23 min). That would work great as a chorus smile.gif

I have a nice sounding lead bit going in my head over ballistic's first riff, lemme see if I can get that down. It won't sound all that great clean since I don't have a pod, but run it through yours and see if this idea works wink.gif

I've added your latest riff now (not yet the acoustic part though)!

I was thinking the verse could start at 00:28 min, and the chorus at 00:42 min. So we need a melody for the vocals here. Who's got some ideas? smile.gif

I got a melody for the chorus running in my head, but since I lack any real recording gear at the moment, I'll try puting it in guitar pro

I simple just imported the midifile, because we'll change it to real vocals later anyways. So it sounds pretty funny now... but you guys will still get an idea of the melody smile.gif

Thanks, means alot coming from you smile.gif...

But the timing came a bit off in the mp3, maybe play with the tempo of the midi until it's right, or just record it with a guitar! smile.gif

Hmm never mind, after a few times listening I see that it's actually good! I was just planning it to sound a bit diffrent heheh, need to get a hold of a mic to show you what I mean.

I know... I actually put it 1/4-note earlier by mistake at first, but then I thought It got that cool rythm, so I kept it that way laugh.gif Do you think it sounds ok enough? it's your spot, so you decide if we should change it! smile.gif

Hey Marcus,
I know I said I'll have something posted by today, but I just don't want to post anything until I'm absolutely sure that I'm satisfied with it. That said, I'm sorry I'm a little late in posting something, but I'll have something by Sunday night at the latest, I'm going to work on this song all day today, so I should get something that I feel is decent smile.gif

My brother is actually home right now, are you free to chat with him about the drum section in the GMC chat room?

Another thing I wanted to ask is that since I don't have a POD, you want just a dry guitar sound recorded and then you'll process it, right? It won't sound great since I just use the Garage Band software that came with my Mac, but hopefully it can by processed to sound alright.

Again, sorry for the delay, talk to you soon smile.gif

I've been very busy with work ( working right now actually ) so my time has been limited. I'll take a look at the current state of things in detail tonight and see what I can figure out.

I like what's there so far and I think that it sounds fantastic. I'd like to understand the sections that are there, and think about the overall plan and direction of the song so I'm not just throwing another riff at it or trying to arrange something completely 180 from what people were thinking.

Was there a specific function you'd like me to fill ? I have lots of experience playing guitar, drums, bass, singing, and arranging - so I'm pretty open though I may be rusty at some of the things ( and things like my bass are ... subpar for doing good recording ). I'm not sure what roles everyone has in this right now - maybe a little list would be helpful. =)

Hey exorcyze,

So far we're just gathering riffs. Then we have to discuss where, and in what order, to place them. Some of them might need to be extended a few bars, etc. It would be great if you could contribute with some ideas for that...

If you already can think think of a plan and direction for the song, you are welcome to tell us about it smile.gif
