Hello Monica,

Here it is... blood, sweat and tears! biggrin.gif

The maybe ultimate take from this lesson.

Just one question we have to ask for ourself... is this one better or not then the previous previous one cool.gif

I have very very very carefully compared this take with Darius' take and focused hard on listening to the pitches. To my ears, I don't hear any pitch differences. But I know my ears can fool me laugh.gif

Await your judgement...

Cheers,
Gert

Hi Gert!

This take is much more improved than the last one. That's a great thing. The part from 0:53 - 1:06 sounds really beautiful. smile.gif

I will start pointing out the issues and then I will compare your both takes (this one and the one that we kept as back-up for REC).

0:06 - a few cents lower
0:10 - pitch is lower
0:20 you stopped this double bend a little too early
0:24 - lower pitch
0:31 - a little higher pitch
0:50 - this bend doesn't sound good. You are under the right pitch.
1:10 - the last bend isn't perfect

The problem in your today's take is the fact that the bends from the beginning have the pitch lower (a few cents). From the listener's point of view, when the first bends are played correctly, the perception of the entire take is different (in a positive way). Also, there are some spots where you rush and your overall playing is a little more aggressive.

The back-up take, has the first part played in a great way and overall it sounds smoother. Also, from the timing point of view, this take is better (besides the bend from 0:45 which is played a little late and will be mentioned in the REC).

The conclusion is that both takes have some parts that really shine. I listened to them many times. But...if you want my honest opinion, I personally will choose for REC, the backup take (approach number 26). The way you played this take, has something special. I don't think this take can receive less than 7, which is an awesome grade for such a hard lesson. smile.gif

You did an amazing job with this lesson and I'm very, very, proud of you. Huge congrats!!! smile.gif

One more thing (for your future REC takes). Try when you make the mix to have a better volume proportion between guitar and backing track. In today's recording, your guitar is too loud. wink.gif

Hi Monica,

Thanks for this feedback as always...

I wil put the back up REC take in REC tomorrow and this way I can finish this lesson with head held up high smile.gif

The volume proportion is a thing I normally check but this time I was so caught up with the 32 pitches laugh.gif I forgot about the volume control of the guitar wink.gif

Cheers,
Gert

I will take a look tomorrow in REC.

One mention - The back-up take has a very good proportion between backing track and guitar. Don't change this. smile.gif

Congratulations on your hard work. This was a killer lesson (many more will come laugh.gif ) but you succeeded in ending this in a very good way. That's awesome!!! smile.gif
