Recently, I've been checking out these Light Picks, and they look pretty interesting. I'm a little confused on a couple of things, though...

First of all, do the indentations/shape really make that big of a difference? If so, how is it different?

Also, I can't really figure out what the difference between the three kinds are... It seems that the Light Show only has Blink Mode, but the Metronome and Pro/Performer both have Blink, Metronome, and Hold modes! So, what is the difference between these two?

Finally, do you think that it's worth the price? I don't know how long these last, but it seems pretty ridiculous to spend 20-80 dollars on one pick!

Anyways, thanks in advance for your help!

Yeah, pretty expensive! But that's just the Pro series, I think...

Here's the website if you're interested... Muris has an amazing video on here, too!

Hi Zephyr smile.gif

Regarding to those 3 types of Light Pick,I prefer using Light Show.
Metronome and Pro have cool features but it's something I don't need in the pick at the moment.
It fits really nice in hand, you can actually feel the pick.
And there are 4 gauges of tip so you can change it anytime.
These tips are great too, provide nice crystal sound with more top.
How long it lasts...probably forever, you only need to replace batteries from time to time.
I like it really, tho I have it for free.
Does it worth the price, it's hard to say to me in your name... smile.gif

Muris, what tip do you use on your lightpick?
- I imagine I would want the heavy gauge(I use Jazz III) but I'm not sure how they compare.
I will order some spare tips when I get my lightpick (gonna get myself one or two for xmas biggrin.gif )
and also wanted to know how longlasting they are so I know how many extra to order.

Congrats, you'll have lots of fun with it! wink.gif

I use heavy tip,you guessed well. smile.gif
And I use the same tip for 2 months now, that's how long I endorse it.
It looks as new,no scratches at all.
But try other tips as well, perhaps Light one for acoustic rhythm stuff?
It will last forever as long as you're using it propertly.
Only thing you need to change here and there are batteries. wink.gif

One question, how does it stand up to pick scrapes? I'm sure that after a few thousand of them it would be beat up. Or would it?

Well, after you get your Light Pick you'll notice that material isn't like on regular picks.
It's lot more harder and heavier.
Guess you'll have to play scrapes for years to beat it up. wink.gif
But still tips aren't expensive,right?

And you can make really cool sounds by using whole pick for scrape, not just the tip.
Try it,you'll see what I'm talking about. biggrin.gif

I got a Light Show 600 and I think it's great. The Light Pick is contoured to the thumb and index finger so that I have an ergonomic hold on the pick for hours of playing. One other thing is that because is thicker then a regular pick you can really feel the pick.
