Personally, I like games like Guitar Hero because you don't need much practice to enjoy it with friends, compared to a normal guitar.
For instance, you and your friend are playing Guitar Hero together, and you're having a ton of fun because you're around the same skill level, even though he's been playing a while longer than you.
Now think about this. Say you and your friend are jamming, and you've been playing guitar for 2 weeks, and he's been playing for a year. Are you really going to have that much fun?
You are right, i agree with you on that point.
If the goal is to enjoy playing the game with friends, i dont see the problem, as long as they have fun.
I may have explained myself wrong, i dont know...i wasnt pointing anyone with a shotgun saying "You will stop playing that game or i ll shoot you!"
and i am sorry if i sounded like that or if i offended anyone, it wasnt on purpose.
What i meant is:
Let's say someone starts to play guitar hero, the guy starts to practice a little bit and then, plays tons of songs and spends tons of hours with some friends(and alone), just enjoying it.
After two months, he reaches an incredible level of playing, he starts to posts covers of songs he played on youtube(like i ve seen many times
) and gets awesome comments on his awesome playing, he ll keep spending many hours per day on the game because he thinks he s good..(and also because actually, video games are pretty addictive, i know what im talkin about, i can easily name all the characters you have on your desktop
).
What do you think if he would have buy a real guitar ( just a cheap one ) and spent all those hours on it? he probably would have had a lot of fun too, okay, maybe not as much as guitar hero, since you need more that 5 days to get good
, but he would have learned something that might be useful for him later, both fun and learning in the same time, isnt that great?
( LOL, i sound like a teacher
)
I actually took the example of the guy im talkin bout on a friend of mine, who is addicted to that game( i wont post any links to his Guitar hero vids
he may be the guest who's watching the thread
he would kill me).
Now he wants to start real guitar, the good point is that the game made him want to start playing guitar,
he always says me "Grr, what if i would have spend all that time and money on a real guitar..?".. BUT... he probably wouldnt have the will to start real guitar without the game.
I guess i have to say it has some good points then.
The number of people who start to play because of the game isnt that great though..Gilbert didnt need guitar hero to start real guitar
anyways,
My main thought was just that people spend too much time on it, and in my opinion, they could learn to play real music instead of it. It is just what I think about it. Everyone thinks different
