Hi Mojo - I checked with Guido and he says he does not remember how he played it here.
Generally speaking - when doing hammers and pulls it is less critical how you plan your picking - simply because you have more time to move the pick around when you are not picking every note.
So in this case I would advice to try to find something that feels comfortable to you, with a movement that feels somewhat economic.
Lick number 4 has hammers and pulls, so I can’t decide how to arrange the upstrokes and down strokes. I’ve tried it a couple different ways. How are you doing it here guido? Is it “down hammer down up pull up down” ?
