  • Have you ever been told to learn scales to fix your soloing - just to discover it does not help?

    If so, you are not the only one. Scales do not help much unless you manage to squeeze some musical juice out of them - which is exactly what we will learn to do here.

    Using a couple of articulation tools - such as raking, sliding, and staccato - we will make standard scalar phrases come to life! By combining these with various other techniques, we will produce the following:

    * Vai style slides
    * Double stop bends
    * Open string pull offs
    * Rhythmic bending
    * Glissando Vibrato
    * Palm muted downpicking

    We will also cover the following:

    * Push-pull changes
    * Harmonic minor
    * Power Chords

    NB See slow video parts of further clarification of these terms!
