HEY GMC!
Welcome to my new lesson. This time round i've put together a lesson the looks into writing/building phrases with an emphasis on melodic core. The melodic core concept is simple, we find a strong simple melodic idea we like and start to build notes around it. By doing this we have a strength in the core of the phrase that gives the line an attachment to the chord your playing over.
This way of writing and building phrases is a fun way to create new lines and some of your favourite melodic lines can now be the seed for more elaborate lines.
I hope you have some fun and start to see this concept adding a new focus when writing phrases, Licks and solo's.
