  • Hi GMC!

In this lesson we'll go through everything needed to successfully learn first songs using songbooks, song lyrics and chords and other materials. This lesson will go through the basics of learning songs which are presented in chords & lyrics format. You will learn how to read chord diagrams to learn new chord shapes and also how to navigate chord charts and progressions.

This lesson contains 4 videos. The first one will focus on standard songs presentation you'll find in songbooks. Second video in this lesson covers reading chord diagrams and basic rules which usually apply to all chord diagrams you might encounter. Third video is focused on standard chord charts and introduces chord progressions term. Being able to navigate charts and be aware of chord progression while playing will help you when you start improvising on the guitar or jamming with friends. The final, fourth video in this lesson takes about how to approach learning songs and where to go next.

This lesson is especially handy for complete beginners on the guitar as it will give you tools you need to start learning your first chord songs on the guitar.
