  • Hello everyone, today I´m starting a new series of "style" compositions.

A style composition is a piece that have a lot of the characteristics of a well known style of music (length, articulation, harmonic progression) but actually has some freedom in the approach in relation to the tradition of the style.

This will be a nice opportunity to show rhythm guitar in a variety of musical genres and also I will use a simplification sheet so you can see how I reduce the content of a piece and use some of that material for a new piece.

This time beautiful and great flute player Mercedes Jofre is aiding us so thanks Mercedes for your help.

In this lesson we will deal with the rhythm for an afrocuban style called "Montuno" and as an extra we have some lydian 7b9b13 scale and a whole tone scale going on somewhere...(Check Ramiro's series on this scales). Have fun!
