- Emir Hot12th July 2009Great lesson Emir - these work pretty well on bass, I just have to figure out how to hold the bottom down at the same time. Very different sound on bass obviously and I have to modify key and some fingerings but it's working. I've loved all of your lessons so far - I can't wait to start doing some things live like this, very different from the way I normally solo.

Hi. This time I've made 5 hot rock/fusion licks which can be played in various rhythmical phrasing - depends what kind of rhythm is behind you. This groove is more funky so 16th notes work well. The scale is mixolydian because the chord on the backing track is G11. You can hear a minor 3rd note on a couple of places but that is an exception to get some bluesy feel in a short moment.
Pay attention on hammer ons and pull offs. It is important to play it as written in the tab and GP so your licks don't lose their effect.
