Hi there, welcome to another lesson. This time I´ll show you a cool solo I composed 5 years ago, for a power metal band where I played called Elendil.
This solo is in the G minor scale over these chords:
Bb-F-Gm-Eb-Cm-Bb-C#-C
Only when I play over C#-C I change the scale during these 2 bars.
So, we have 2 parts to work on.
First: the rhythm part.
Here we use powerchords, some notes between the chords, octaves, always using alternate picking.
Second: the solo part.
Here use alternate picking, bends, vibratos.
So, I hope this lesson helps to develop your own solos! Take this lesson step by step and have fun!
Chords: included in every video.
Used scales: G minor, mostly
Bar: 4/4
Tune Down: 1/2 step
TEMPO: 150 bpm
As some of you know, I use a POD xt to rec all my lessons. In my board you´ll find my presets ;) On the other hand, here´re the settings for people who wants.
Amp model: based on Soldano Slo-100
Drive 9
Bass 4.9
Middle 5
Treble 6.8
Presence 7
Small room Reverb:
Predelay 0%
Decay 42 %
Tone 50%
Mix 43%
Remember: Same settings in other gear will produce a different sound, but, as we´ve talked at the forum, this could be cool for some members, so enjoy!
If you have any problems let me know. Take care. See you all around.
