Carlos Carrillo7th May 2008excellent lesson Hrvoje!!!
Ben N27th November 2007great!
Manny10th July 2007nahh, not that much like iron maiden. steve harris stays more constant with a 3 finger gallop in iron maiden songs.
but it does have that vibe!
fantastic lesson, il have to work on this one =]
J.E.10th June 2007nice lesson Hrvoje it reminds me very much of iron maiden! keep up the good work
Kristofer Dahl16th February 2007Should be fixed now!
Hrvoje16th February 2007There is a mistake with all tabs, letters that are positioned under and uppon tabs, which show you what fingers to use, are in wrong place,I hope that Kris will fix that soon, my appologize.
Hrvoje16th February 2007Ok, if my english works, that would not be called rake, rake is only for pulling the strings with one finger from higher to lower, Correct me if Im wrong!
I would play this part in two ways, it depends of song tempo. If tempo is slower I would simply play like this:
G|-----------13--
D|--------12-----
A|-----11--------
D|--12-----------
R M I M
(ring, middle, index, middle)
if you practice that good enough you could
acchieve great speed so there would be no reason
for using thing 2:
G|-----------13--
D|--------12-----
A|-----11--------
D|--12-----------
T T T T
(Using your thumb as a pick)
If youre wandering about left hand:
M I M R
G|-----------13--
D|--------12-----
A|-----11--------
D|--12-----------
I hope I did answer your question, enjoy
ThatGuy16th February 2007So how do you rake up like if it was
G|------13--
D|-----12---
A|----11----
D|--12------
That's in drop d and its used in one of my band's songs.

This is an example in which you will be able to learn some basic and common things used in playing fingerstyle.
Correct accents, consistancy, skiping the string when playing octaves, and rake the strings with one finger when you're sweeping from higher strings to lower.
Watch this video and look for explainations in slow videos. I hope it will help you!
