  • Hello GMC !
-In today's lesson we are going to practice some left hand muting.Good left hand muting technique is essential for every bass player and muted notes play a large role in bass lines and groove building. If you want to sound groovy you just can't avoid it!

-In this lesson I will introduce you to a series of exercises that will help you develop and practice your left hand muting technique.I used a cool drum beat to play a role of a metronome in order to have more fun while practicing.

-As a bonus you will practice along right hand alternating as well!

-This lesson contains real drum backings for all major tempos, also there is a practice-ready guitar pro file that is tuned for loop able exercises.

    -Tempo: 120 bpm
    -Time signature: 4/4
-Difficulty: for all levels of playing
    -Tuning: standard EADG

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added bass and treble on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" speaker and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in the forum.

Enjoy and have a lot of fun muting in this one!

    Cheers!
