  • Hello GMC!

-In today's lesson we are going to learn a new technique! It will be palm muting combined with playing dead notes and picking in a particular style with our right hand. This new technique can really enhance your bass playing repertoire and its not common to hear it played around, so it can really refresh your sound.

-I composed this little latino pop rock tune for you to practice this new technique. You will develop right hands strength and left hand fingering and muting as well.

-Scale used for composing is G major, every note will fit into that scale.I used triad and arpeggio ideas we learned in previous lessons to choose the right notes.

    -Key: G
    -Tempo: 120 bpm
    -Time signature: 4/4
    -Tuning: standard
    -Difficulty: intermediate

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun plucking this one!
