J-pop

Japanese pop

J-Pop (Japanese Pop or Japanese Music) is nothing less that Pop but specific from Japan, that was born in the early 90's. Modern J-Pop has its roots on 60's music such as The Beatles.

Characteristics

Unlike Enka music, in which the artist uses japanese traditional instruments, J-Pop uses modern ones such as drums, guitars, bass, sampler and synthesizer. J-Pop is also known for having a more common language, unlike Enka that uses a more formal language register.
