Jackson Guitars was founded in 1980. Grover Jackson owned and operated the company. He was a partner of Wayne Charvel. Jackson Guitars started with the design of the Jackson Rhoads. Designed and created for soon to be legendary Randy Rhoads.

Partly due to a wide variety of aggressive looks, Jackson guitars were among the most popular for rock and metal guitarists. They also made quite a name for themselves in the way of quality as well.

The pointy drooped headstock is adead giveaway to a Jackson guitar.

In 2002 Fender bought Jackson Guitars.
