Sound: 7 – It was 1982. There was still a lot of improvements to be made in the realm of producing and engineering a good metal album. So this is average. There is one standout feature in the sound category. The guitar tones are nothing less than fierce. They are so raw sounding that you cant help but love it. This is true British metal in every sense of the word.
Guitarwork: 8 – Glenn and K.K. at one of their finest moments. The solos on songs like Electric Eye and Riding On The Wind are very memorable. Their rhythms are locked in and outstanding examples of why we love the twin guitar attack that Judas Priest brought to this genre.
Lyrics: 6 – It’s a metal album. Metal isn’t a strong category for lyrics in this reviewers opinion. And this band isn’t a contender for top lyricists either.
Overall Impression: This is one of those “Top Ten Desert island Albums” for me. I love it. Its iconic Priest. Its iconic metal. Its one fantastic album. A must have for any metal fan.
