Still fairly new to the music scenve and out of the LA indie scene comes a band very reminscent of The Smashing Pumpkins. Silversun Pickups has been touring the LA club scene for many years and have only now have started to become popular in the mainstream press. They have a big underground following after the debut of the first EP entitled Pikul.
The band's sound encompassing multiple overdubs of distorted guitars and ofthen compared to The Smashing Pumpkins. The band members have said they are heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine, the Velvet Underground, Elliott Smith, Sonic Youth, Sweet, Modest Mouse, and Secret Machines.
