Sweep Picking
Sweep picking is a technique on guitar in which a sweeping motion of the pick is combined with a matching fret hand technique in order to produce a specific series of notes which are fast and fluid. Both hands need to be in unison to achieve the desired effect. Sweeping is a difficult technique that requires a lot of discipline and concentration, but if you are patient, it is a very rewarding technique to master. The secret of sweeping is to synchronize your right hand with your left hand.
The Right Hand
One of the toughest things for a new sweeper is the right hand because of the sweep picking motion. When you first start to get the motion down its either to fast and rings out like a chord or too slow.
