Opeth

Arch Enemy
Arch Enemy is a Metal band from Sweden that was formed by brothers Michael and Christopher Amott and bassist/singer John Liiva in 1996. With both Michael Amott and John Liiva coming from successfull Death Metal bands they attempted to go a more melodic way with Arch Enemy. The most remarkable thing about Arch Enemy is the female vocalist Angela Gossow because female gutural growling singers are rarely seen.
Black Label Society
Black Label Society is an American Heavy Metal band formed in 1998 by Ozzy Osbourne's Legendary Guitarist Zakk Wylde. The band plays a mixture of very rude Southern Rock and Heavy Metal with simple riffs and incredible solos, but they are also capable of beautiful ballads with accoustic guitars and piano. Every Instrument except for the drums is played by Zakk Wylde on the records. n 1990 Zakk Wylde's boss Ozzy Osbourne was about to take a longer break after the album Ozzmosis. AC/DC is a rock band formed in Sydney, Australia by Angus and Malcolm Young in 1973. AC/DC are considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal they consider themselves rock n roll.
AC/DC got their name from their sister Margret's sewing machine. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation for "alternating current/direct current", which indicates that an electrical device can use either type of power. Angus and Malcolm felt this symbolized the bands energy, performances, and love for music so they kept the name. There have been rumers that AC/DC stands for Anti Christ/Devil's Children or (more...)
This week: Metallica
Metallica was officially founded on the 28th of October 1981 in Los Angeles,California by rythm-guitarist and and singer James Hetfield and drummer and former tennis-pro Lars Ulrich. The name Metallica was meant to be the name of an underground Metal-Fan-Magazine but was stolen by Lars Ulrich to use it as the name for his band. The first Demo record, including coversongs and the first Metallica song Hit the lights was entirely recorded by James and Lars.
