   Dear GMC:ers,
In this lesson you will not only find a solo full with techniques, licks and tricks to learn - but you will find a complete instrumental guitar song. The way we constructed this song allows you to practice it as if it where a lesson series - starting from beginner level and ending with advanced techniques.

You could choose to digest the whole piece - or just dive into your favorite segments. You will find the following topics covered:

* Slow blues phrasing
* Single line vibrato phrases(let's face it - Mr Lavendell is the man)
* Whammy bar phrasing
* Ending shred runs covering alternate picking, sweeping, triad arpeggios, four note arpeggios, Steve Morse style chromatic picking

We want to suggest that you also spend a little time playing the chords over the backing track or the main video - learning both the licks and the chords simultaneously will give you a better understanding of our note choice. If you do this alot in combination with scale studying - theory should get clearer and clearer.

Intro + Verse:
Cm - Fm - Gm - Fm - G

Chorus:
Cm - Eb - Fm - Gm - Ab - Bb - G/B - Cm - Bb - Ab - Bb - Cm

Solo:
Cm - Eb - Fm - Gm - Ab - Bb - G/B - Cm - Bb

As always, Marcus and I (Kris) will stay glued to your feedback comments - so be sure bombard us with questions (etc).

Kristofer Dahl & Marcus Lavendell

@ Marcus' part - your spacy licks are absolute killer and your ending shred so dramatic. Also, the way you twist a simple melody with your vibrato and bending is beyond cool - thanks for the inspiration! biggrin.gif

Thanks guys! And thanks Kris for learning me those tricks to get the "tremolo vibrating" (you explain it very well in part 1). That was new techniques for me, and I find them really useful! smile.gif

Thanks for the fantastic comments - it's so rewarding to hear this from you guys!! biggrin.gif

SnesE - the message in my playing is probably the feelings and sensations life gives me. (That's why I am careful not to record when being hungry! biggrin.gif)

Counted 61 doing this lesson at this time, Marcus S. had 64 once when I counted. Highest counts I have seen. After several views, I find Marcus L's linear lines (and the tapping on the held vibrato at end) interesting, and the way Kris blends sweeps with AP, so the sweeps are more integrated in the play, don't stand out as "in your face" sweeps. Which is not bad.
