hey guys..... Here is my problem: I have a Les Paul and I want soon buy a stratocaster, until now I did never have a Strat type guitar and so I don´t know much about them. I wanna buy any Fender or Mex. Fender Modell for not too much money. In a shop I already a Mex. Standard Strat and it was a quite cool feeling but I don´t know if it wouldn´t be maybe better to spend a little more money to buy another Modell but I don´t know much about the strats..... I only know that I like the typical strat sound So I hope You can suggest me any Fender(maybe Mex. Fender) Modell for not too much money. i play a les paul, but have a strat. i would get the standard strat, american, look for a good deal. i got a 3 tone last christmas for $780. that is the best to do, and if you want to mod it, mod it. but go to the fender forum. http://www.thefenderforum.com/forum/index.php all your questions will be answered there. also consider a tele. unless you really feel you need a wang bar (i don't), in my opinion, a tele is a better guitar. I blame Hendrix and Clapton for the fact that most people don't feel that way. edit: also, i would prefer a 12 inch radius neck, like the Eric Johnson model. You can set you action down all the way with a 12 inch neck. Not really with a 9.5 inch, which is what most fenders are. Gibsons have a 12 inch radius neck, i can set my les pauls to just over 2/64 of an inch on the high E, and 3/64 on the low (at the 12th fret). With a 9.5 radius you will get string kill on bends if you do that. I like the 12 radius. Don't like the 17 (430mm) radius as on Ibanez, people buy into that, but I feel it is a bad idea. I dont know where you live but you can get a strat here for a good price: www.thomann.de
I bought a american strat from there, put in dimarzio pickups and its sounds just the way I want. this is all recorded with my strat, sorry for my bad playing but the scale box sometimes jumps around stratdimarzio.mp3 ( 1.31MB ) Number of downloads: 178 |

Just an FYI. They are not "missing" the middle pickup... hehe. BUT they are very hit and miss. I hope to get a good vintage or reissue Tele eventually to add to my collection. - Hardtail -------------------- Beginner's Amp & Guitar Gear Guide My Keeley Blues Driver BD-2 Review My Line6 Flextone II Review Guitars: Martin D-16RGT with B-Band UST & '99 Fender "Big Apple" Hardtail HH Strat Amps: Fender Blues Junior Special Edition & Fender Studio 85 (Simultaneous... yummy) |
