hey guys..... Here is my problem:
I have a Les Paul and I want soon buy a stratocaster, until now I did never have a Strat type guitar and so I don´t know much about them.
I wanna buy any Fender or Mex. Fender Modell for not too much money.
In a shop I already played a Mex. Standard Strat and it was a quite cool feeling but I don´t know if it wouldn´t be maybe better to spend a little more money to buy another Modell but I don´t know much about the strats.....
I only know that I like the typical strat sound wink.gif
So I hope You can suggest me any Fender(maybe Mex. Fender) Modell for not too much money.

hmm

everyone has different opinion on guitars, i would say your best bet is to try out the strats in the shop and make sure you are very happy with the mexican strat before you make your purchase.

I play my Mexican strat when I'm not in the mood to play my C-1+. It's a great guitar and it's not that expensive. Just make sure you like it and try it out before you buy it!

i play a les paul, but have a strat. i would get the standard strat, american, look for a good deal. i got a 3 tone last christmas for $780. that is the best to do, and if you want to mod it, mod it.

but go to the fender forum.

http://www.thefenderforum.com/forum/index.php

all your questions will be answered there. also consider a tele. unless you really feel you need a wang bar (i don't), in my opinion, a tele is a better guitar. I blame Hendrix and Clapton for the fact that most people don't feel that way.

edit: also, i would prefer a 12 inch radius neck, like the Eric Johnson model. You can set you action down all the way with a 12 inch neck. Not really with a 9.5 inch, which is what most fenders are. Gibsons have a 12 inch radius neck, i can set my les pauls to just over 2/64 of an inch on the high E, and 3/64 on the low (at the 12th fret). With a 9.5 radius you will get string kill on bends if you do that. I like the 12 radius. Don't like the 17 (430mm) radius as on Ibanez, people buy into that, but I feel it is a bad idea.

i agree with the standard american strat, they are great guitars especially for the price.

i dislike teles, mainly because alot of them are missing the middle pickup and in my opinion are not as versatile as the strat.

I dont know where you live but you can get a strat here for a good price: www.thomann.de
I bought a american strat from there, put in dimarzio pickups and its sounds just the way I want.

this is all recorded with my strat, sorry for my bad playing but the scale box sometimes jumps around tongue.gif

maybe I will like my strat more later, sometimes that happens.

my tele is an american with a single pole and a humbucker. those are now discontinued, but I really think that is a very nice instrument. it has the s1 switching, and really, all the sounds I need from pickups, if mean for a fender. it sounds like a fender, but the humbucker is nice. this is not a popular guitar, i bet some are hanging in shops trying to be unloaded, and if a person wants a neat guitar that is not popular, this is one.

Just an FYI. They are not "missing" the middle pickup... hehe. BUT they are very hit and miss. I hope to get a good vintage or reissue Tele eventually to add to my collection.
