Here are couple of suggestions from Thomann.de, all great examples bellow 200e:

Consider the M Box as well if you are on a Mac, a very pro solution

Need an Audio interface for guitar recording mainly. What do you suggest? I think my budget is about 200 dollars i've got a mac book pro The responses have laid out some great choices. Ivan has NAILED many of the best bets and the MBOX is a great choice as well. Here is a link to a full guide on THOMANN.DE about audio interfaces. http://www.thomann.de/gb/onlineexpert_105.html USB 2.0 is important. USB 1.1 has very limited bandwidth. It's not a deal killer for you probably but go 2.0 if at all possible. IF budget is an issue, take a look at the TASCAM US-800 ( 8 inputs USB 2.0) which goes for about $100 U.S. IF you can swing it, I can personally suggest the Tascam M164 UF (my personal unit choice) which is a full mixing board with FX and USB connection. I've recored four live mic inputs at a time with no issues and it works for live stuff as it's a full mixer. But it's more expensive so maybe for later. http://www.thomann.de/gb/tascam_m164_uf.htm This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Dec 14 2011, 03:43 PM |
