Take 7: Your First Riff, Lesson By Gabriel Leopardi |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Your First Riff by Gabriel Leopardi
Played the riff in classical position as Todd suggested and I think my left hand position has improved with suggestions from Monica. Looking forward to feedback :-) Links to previous attempts at this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63302 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63303 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63306 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63307 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63314 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=63317 |

Hi Gert!
I want to say that I really like your attitude. You work hard and the improvements are very visible. Your right hand looks ok. I like the fact that you keep your hand in touch with the strings. This is exactly what I wanted to see. Great job on that. Now, because I would like to see how well you have understood the palm muting technique, I will give you a new lesson. One tip: don't hurry and give yourself enough time to learn the lesson. Be careful because you have parts played with muting and parts without muting. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...29-Palm-Muting/ Now a few words about your left hand. Definitely looks better (not perfect) because each finger is positioned on a fret. That's a really good thing. At this moment, your fingers don't have a natural movement, but this will come with practice. That's why, let's take a step further and put your fingers at work. For this task I will give you another lesson. In this way, you will start moving your fingers better and you will also get used with the C major scale. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...-C-Major-Scale/ Overall, your take sounds really nice. There are some notes which don't sound perfectly equal but you fixed all the things that we asked from you. So....you have an 8 from me. Keep up your awesome work!
