Hi JesseJ!! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!
Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project. The principles of our Army are: + Improve your technique + Make music and solos + Have fun + Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... ) -------------------- My lessons

Well not to sure yet but I like the Fast Track Pro better I think because it has more inputs . Is there any specific type of Mic you would recommend for recording ? I think that Shure SM-57 is great for electric guitar. It's a versatile mic so you can use it for acoustic, other instruments and even for some vocals. It's not the best option for vocals but it does the job. -------------------- My lessons

Would I need to get a mic stand so I could have the mic in the middle of the amp or could I just lay it in front of the amp ? Yes! It would be important to have a stand to put the mic in a good position. Check out this video where you will find an interesting tutorial about this: -------------------- My lessons

I use a Line 6 Pod HD 500 for the lessons and also as a multiFx to play live. With my band I play with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier head and a Marshall 1960b cabinet. I also have an old Marshall mod 8080 that nowadays I only use for practising at home.
The only secret here is PRACTICE. -------------------- My lessons

Haha yes practice is very necessary !!! My Hand is sore today from playing so much !! and that rarely happens to me . I think it is because I was playing alot with my pinky finger on the low E string and it is quite a stretch . Also I play standing up 99% of the time and then I find it harder to reach the low E with my pinky . Oh and btw you got some nice gear I really like Mesa Boogie stuff and marshall so you got the best of both worlds ! Great man! Playing too much?? Excellent mate! Practising standing up is very important since that how you will play live. I use to do it the more than I can. -------------------- My lessons
