Hi Metalheadlady!! Welcome to your thread to start working together! smile.gif

I will post here all the info that you've sent me to have it as our guide:

"
* How long have you been playing the guitar?
Since my 11th birthday (so 5 years and week exactly) but I've taken lots lf long breaks, so I don't have as much experience as I should.

* What do you feel your current level is?
beginner, probably.

* What sort of theoretical knowledge do you have so far?
None, or if any, very little. I'm unsure as to exactly what this all entails. I know a few chords, but I can't read music at all.

* How much time/day can you spend practicing?
I have school and homework stuff like most anyone else my age would, so not much. It can vary from 4 hours to an hour on weekdays, and no time to all day on the weekends.

* What are your favorite techniques?
I don't really have any, as far as I know.

* What would you like to improve?
I need work on bar chords, alternate picking, and lots of other things, but those two specifically. I have messed up joints basically everywhere, so i'm not sure if alternate picking hurts my wrist due to that, or if it's just because I'm not used to it.

* What is your current experience as a player (band, studio, home)?
Well I have some friends that want to be in a band, but I'm the only one with an instrument, so nothing that far. I used to play at home a lot, but my grandpa never seemed happy with my progress (pretty discouraging as a 12 year old) and I pretty much stopped. A few months ago I started again and I practice a lot more than I did then.
* What gear do you own?
an ESP EC-50, some sort of 15 watt Fender amp, and a child sized acoustic from Walmart.

* Name a few favorite artists that inspire your playing
Well Blind Guardian is the band I'm most obsessive about, for sure. Most anything they have is too difficult for me to play, however. All I've managed is tiny bits to the intro of "Mordred's Song", "A past and Future Secret", and "The Bard's Song- In the Forest". I like a lot of other power metal bands, like Rhapsody of Fire, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Stratovarious, or Helloween, stuff like that. I also like Amon Amarth, a ton of random black metal bands, and Mercyful Fate/King Diamond. I've tried to learn a part of at least one song by every band I've mentioned, but it rarely works. Anyway, I hope that gives you an idea about that stuff."

sounds fabulous to me. I just need something set to prevent me from playing Marcus Siepen's warmups over and over because I don't know what else to do.

oh geez, I suggest stuff...
well here, https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...c-metal-rhythm/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...ernate-Picking/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Land-Of-Legato/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/D-Minor-Bending/

I looked around but couldn't really decide on anything for theory. I'll go with whatever you pick, as I know virtually nothing. So yeah, Hopefully those are kind of what you were looking for.

Hi lady! those are really good suggestions! You are making this job very easy for me. I just suggested another lesson for bending but feel free to also work the one that you suggested. Please keep me updated about your progress with this lessons.

Regarding technique. My suggestion is to start working on this topic. You will find the explanation and some exercises:

Mastering notes on the fret-board.

What do you think?

Sounds good to me. I'm really excited to get working on this, but i have to get home first. Our German class had a substitute so we just got to mess around on the computers today thankfully. I'll be to work on that in a couple hours, then. and i read over the fretboard one, that looks helpful happy.gif
