Thanks Todd, I use Movie Maker, to be honest it's fine for me but it does have its limitations.
Cheers buddy. UPDATE: It wouldn't install for some reason, kept saying files were missing. I download again tomorrow. It worked the second time but I didn't get the questions about what I use so that they can provide the right resources. All I did differently was to click on the .exe file within the zip file, I didn't unzip the entire contents first.

The good news is that AVID will remember your password so it's not an issue for using media composer.
If you don't have a Gmail account, go create one, it's free, then you can use GOOGLE DOCS to keep your passwords. You can tell your browser to remember your google password so you don't have to put it in each time. Then keep your passwords at http://docs.google.com in a document. You can always just copy and paste if you forget it. I'm bad at programs, websites and platforms that require being logged in unless they don't log the user out automatically. I keep forgetting my password 100% of the time, so I need to recover it for every use.

In your previous post you mentioned that you can never remember your passwords so I was suggesting a method to help you remember them. You can use the auto remember function for getting in to the application and just pop over to the avid web site to test your memory and see if you can remember your login. Best of both worlds
I want to exercise and push my brain and memory, so I'll probably not use these methods. If Avid can memorize the user, then it's good enough but I don't want to rely on such tools in the long run There is a software version of ILOCK these days that will manage all of your licenses related to ilock. I've always hated the ilock system, glad they finally went software. https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager I couldn't open it, it kept on saying something about insert the iLock code, can't remember now, maybe it will work this evening because of the computer being shutdown. I'll let you know. I do have iLock.

Total ball ache, I have iLock, I have Avid Link, Media Composer isn't showing up in iLok and ProTools First is showing a 2015 installation.
When I try to open MC I get a dialogue box saying "Unable to retrieve entitlement data", when I try to open PT I get a dialogue box saying "Error, missing PACE authorisation for Pro Tools. Please insert the necessary iLok or rejoin your cloud session and restart Pro Tools". I think this is why I gave up on Pro Tools a few years back. Pain in the proverbial UPDATE: I managed to get PT to open, I hadn't activated it on my laptop, I opened a new project, closed it and it said it was too large for the cloud and that I had to manage my cloud storage which I presume means buying some more, it hadn't even got a single sound file in it This post has been edited by Phil66: Jun 2 2019, 08:26 PM -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. I don't have the physical iLok just the software one, I might uninstall the lot and start again as there are bits from a few years ago on there, maybe some update mismatch?

It's okay but I'm more comfortable with Movie Maker. It will probably take time to learn it properly.

I like resolve Sadly it's even more complicated than media composer as it's not really a non linear editor, it's really a color correction suite. I shared it on GMC when they first released it as free. Sadly, the hardware requirements are a bit stiff and at least once GMCer sorta bricked her laptop briefly.
