hey guys i was checking Hangar 18 lesson from Daniel.
and i notive a guitar scale call atonal 3 nps pattern.---

never hear of!, my question is what it is atonal 3 nps pattern o.o and how/where do put it

You can get an atonal scale using whole tones only.

so in one string you would play frets: 0 - 2 - 4- 6 -8 -10- 12 -14 -16 -18- 20

And there you have the whole tone, atonal scale, (Because it doesn't belong to any key, because all distances are the same)

rearrange the notes on the other strings and you'll notice that you'll get very symmetric patterns when doing this

that's one example.

Another can be only doing minor triads:

so in one string you would have: 0 -3 -6 -9 -12 -15 -18

or another with major triads: 0 - 4 - 8 - 12 -16 -20

These all sound atonal. (Because they can belong to many keys if not all at the same time, so there's no tonal center) I associate them with scary, confused, creepy sounding music smile.gif
