Hi guys,

after 25 years I decided last year to start again with playing. Everything I've learned was forgotten and my fingers were stiff. At least I was very glad to find this site some month ago with a lot of usefull stuff and good tips.
Last weekend I made my first recording, I know, there are a lot of mistakes and it is absolutly not perfect. Anyway I would be glad to get your opinions and critique.

Hey Strat, welcome!

I have a little tip for you: The sounds seems in the right rhtyhm.. but not tongue.gif

Especially in the beginning, what I think is wrong is that there is a little delay between you playing and the computer recording. This is called latency. Maybe it's possible to drag back you take a tiny bit! I always get rid of it by hitting the strings on the intro clicks, then after playing I can sync the taps with the clicks!

I think your playing rocks! Your lead sound... Wow!!! Can you gives some specs? I love it tongue.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Welcome aboard Strat your playing is great, you are aware of teh dynamics. The drums weren't that good but it's OK, the playing is. That part with a solo is also nice and fast, a bit more precision would really sound even better.

Hi,

thanks for your opinons, for the drum track I used EZ Drummer and I'm not yet very familiar with it.
@ kaznie_NL: I think the delay is not a technical problem, it' me smile.gif . While holding the pick between thumb an index finger I had to play the intro with middle and ring finger and it seems that I have to improve one more technique.
I'm using a toneport UX1 and a Angus Young style setting, which I have modified for my taste. I hope it's allowed to upload it here, so everybody who wants can use or modify it.

Very good playing, in some places lead guitar is not heard well due to loud rhythm guitar, but sounds good smile.gif
