I like these two chords the best in drop tunings.
So why do I get two chord names? I used a chord namer. F#sus2addb9/G F#sus2addb2/G  I use this one after a big open rhythm chunk, and sometimes play it backwards as an arpeggio. Power Chords are great but limited. Once you go beyond them you start to define your own sound. As has been mentioned, DIMINISHED chords can work well, as can MINOR chords. You may have to add varied picking in to them instead of strumming or crunching, but that too opens up new sounds.

I like the creating dissonant powerchords made from fractions of diminished chords, insert them occasionally between regular ones.
