In smaller rooms, cafe' and the like we did acoustic versions or only used enough amp to get over noise, in halls we did more electric sets with more effects and things. The bit about context remind me of a section in Zen Guitar where it talks about drawing a 'frame' around your music. Where will it fit in the great scheme of things ? Culturally ? Influentially ?
