I'd like to add 10 minutes of practice dedicated to each of these techniques:

- Alternate Picking
- Bending
- Vibrato

This would mean 30 extra minutes of practice, and will have a big impact in your playing on the current solo sections.

Is it possible?

Hi Gabriel!
Yes! I will try my best to make this possible on most days smile.gif
What lessons should I add to my practice routine?

My current practice routine looks like this at the moment
25 min Timing 8th notes
25 min Timing Triplets
30 min Beginner Solo
30 min Melody Workout
10 min Ear Training
Do you want to make any changes to that or will we keep it as it is?

More focus, more attention and less time to some topics. Check this plan:

15 min (full focus) Timing 8th notes
15 min (full focus) Timing Triplets
30 min Beginner Solo
25 min Melody Workout
10 min Ear Training

10 min - Alternate picking: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-Workout-2/
10 min - Bending: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...String-Bending/
10 min - Vibrato: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Vibrato-Odyssey-5/

About the new lessons added:

You have only 10 minutes to work each day so you won't work on the whole lessons. During this first week you'll focus on polishing parts 1 and 2. I want videos from you in a week only playing the first 2 parts over and over.

Hi Alex! Great job!

The timing assignments are very close! There are many measures in which you can play tight! Next step on these two ones is to adjust a bit dynamics. You should be able to accentuate the note that goes with the beat. In this case the first of each group of 3 triplets and the first of each pair of 8th notes. This will make your timing more defined and will help you to manage another important element: dynamics.

About the lessons, these are on the right track, continue working on them and please share takes always with backing to let me analyze them better, ok?

Heey Gabriel! smile.gif
I am back. Better late than never, right? wink.gif
I want to apologize really that I am so late with this.
However when you get busy with life, there is not many choices you can do.

I tried to practice dynamics but it is quite hard. Dynamics on 8th notes is easier than triplets.

Here is my update!
Bending
https://soundcloud.com/alex-arvedahl/bending-practice
Alternate picking
https://soundcloud.com/alex-arvedahl/alternate-picking-workout-2-90-bpm
Triplets in 70 bpm
https://soundcloud.com/alex-arvedahl/70-bpm-triplets
8th Notes in 90 bpm

The beginner solo

Vibrato lesson

And here is the song idea so far

What do you think?

Hi Alex!! It's great to find all this stuff from you! You are on the right track with most of this topics! Please check my feedback about each take and feel free to ask everything you need.

Bending: Half of your bends are reaching the right pitch while half not so you need to keep on practicing each of them to make this technique more consistent.

Alternate Picking: This one is on the right track. You need off course to keep on practicing at this tempo but most of the time your picking sounds good and tight with the backing.

Triplets in 70 bpm: Your playing get tighter in the second half of the take. The first halves in not tight and for any reason the last measures neither. This can be related to attention so please keep on practicing putting all your focus on going adjusted with the hi hat.

8th notes in 90 bpm: Good job with this one! I think that your work on this time figure is getting better.

Beginner solo: This take shows how much is the work on other tasks is polishing your playing! You need to be careful with the phrase at 00:35 which is also repeated later because it’s not playing at the right rhythm.

Vibrato lesson: There are two important things to improve on this one. The first one is related to movements. Your movement when playing vibrato should be done from your wrist and you need to avoid movement done from your fingers. Please pay attention to Ben’s video and try to emulate his left hand movement. Besides this, you need to adjust the rhythm of the vibration.

Song idea: Very nice melody! I think that it has some really strong sections and some little parts that could be re-worked to keep the whole sound interesting. I’ll mar my favorite parts:
00:07 to 0:14
00:19 to 00:30
00:31 to 00:35
01:05 to 01:10

I would take these ideas, polish them, and work on new melodies for the other parts.

Great Gabriel! I feel very comfortable with this new routine biggrin.gif Feels like I am progressing in a good speed smile.gif
What did you think about my dynamics? Should I make them even clearer and first note even louder?

This is great Alex! I'm happy to know that we've found a good way of practicing. About dynamics, yes! There is always room to adjust this element. Keep on experimenting with it, the more you focus on it, the more control you'll have. Listen to great guitarists and pay attention to this kind of details.
